MooseDuro is a multi-stage Enduro race held by Alberta 66 MTB and Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society (MMBTS).  This grassroots event is brought to life by a passionate crew of volunteers and sponsors from the local community and has sold out every year since its inception in 2017.  All profits from the race go back to MMBTS for maintaining and building trails on the mountain.

What to Expect:

  • A fully marked race course showcasing Moose Mountain’s trail system. 

  • “Fly-through” timing system, with live results during the race! Sponsored by Progressive Estimating Services 

  • Bragg Creek Cafe and Ignite CSG generously providing catering at the finish to refuel hungry racers

  • Celebratory beverages at the finish - Born Brewing will be making a special brew for MooseDuro

  • EBike Category Open Mens and Womens sponsored by Calgary Cycle

  • Start/finish line professional bike mechanic support by Ridley’s Cycle

  • Finish line body mechanic by Versa MC

  • On course professional bike mechanics from The Inside Line 

  • Well stocked aide stations provided by local rider Heather Cleveland and Kruch Bicycles

  • Amazing prizes for participants and volunteers provided by Ridley's, Inside Line, Calgary Cycle, Tairin Wheels, Ibis, and more!

Race Information â€‹

  • All racers MUST be MMBTS members in order to be covered by insurance. Memberships can be purchased online .  

  • Categories will be Mens and Womens, U15, U21, Open, 40 - 49 and new in 2024, 50+. No pro category. Ebike Open Men and Open Women category only.

  • Full Face helmet is not mandatory, but full face and body armor is strongly recommended for all racers

  • There will be no shuttling for any of the racers to the stages, all courses and categories are pedal-powered

  • Race day changes from Short to Long course may be permitted, however we prefer that changes are completed by Wednesday Sept 4th at Noon. Any questions, email info@alberta66mtb.com

  • Race will be taped/marked by evening on Saturday, Sept. 14th

  • Cell reception sporadic throughout the race course - course marshals will have radios to communicate in event of emergency

  • Closest accommodation is McLean Creek Campground, or hotel in Calgary

  • All Racers and Volunteers are eligible for prizes – a raffle ticket will be given to you at the event

  • 2024 race course is now available on Trailforks - to see if on your phone you must go to settings -> Downloaded Regions -> Alberta and resync. Then search MooseDuro 2024 to see the courses

Race Day Schedule Sunday, September 15th 2024:​

  • Start/Finish area will be at Paddy's Flat Group Campsite

  • Parking is available in the Paddy's Flat Group Campsite- turn left shortly after the main entrance to Paddy's Flat and follow the direction of the parking volunteer

  • 7:00 am: Sponsors arrive to set up

  • 7:15 am: Paddy's Flat Group Campsite: Volunteer Meeting for Registration/General volunteers

  • 7:30 am: Paddy's Flats Group Campsite Volunteers meeting for Course Marshalls and First Aid – volunteers will be assigned locations and will be shuttled to their positions or can pedal to their spots. 

  • RACER REGISTRATION:

    • 7:45–8:15 am: Racer Registration: Long Course 40 and 50+ Men and Women, Long Course U21 and U15 Men and Women, ALL Short Course (non-ebike)

    • 8:15–8:45 am: Racer Registration: Long Course Open Men and Women, ALL E-Bikes

  • 9:00 RACE BRIEFING AND START - ALL RACERS

    • We will be assigning stage order to space riders out on course​ - you will find out at registration your order, you may request the same order as your friends.​

      • Short Course same order for all: Shaft then Race of Spades​

      • Long Course Either:

        • Family Guy/Toothless, Lower Jean Guy, Race of Spades OR​

        • Lower Jean Guy (pedal to Ing's mine first and ride up shattered, not up moose road), Family Guy/Toothless, Race of Spades

  • RACE FINISH: RETURN TIMING CHIP AND PICK UP FOOD TICKET​​

    • ​You will be able to pick up your food by handing in a ticket at the table

  • ~2:30 pm: Race course closes – course sweeps will take down course markings and return to the start/finish area at Paddy's Flat Group Campsite

  • ~3:30pm: Podiums and Prizes at Paddy's Flat Group Campsite

Costs:

  • 80$ - Registration only available for valid MMBTS members, membership NOT included in race fee

  • Refunds available up to August 30, 2024. After this date any cancellations will not receive a refund.

  • NO TRANSFERS AT ANY POINT. Racers who can not make the event will be refunded up until Aug 30th and their spot sold to people on the waitlist.

  • Participants must be MMBTS members for insurance reasons - you can register without a membership, but you must become a member by Aug 30th 2024 to participate

VOLUNTEERS:

  • We are so lucky every year we get wonderful volunteers to make this event possible!

  • If selected to volunteer you will have access to free camping at Paddy's flat, lunch and snacks on race day and you're eligible for prizes. Thank you!

  • All photos have been donated by our generous photographers and profits from their purchase goes to MMBTS! 5$/photo or 20$ gets you all photos of you in the race - if new photos are uploaded after your purchase you will get an email to go in and download them as they will be included in the 20$.
